First tool ban is here! A new law was just signed in New York that requires blueprint blocking technology on every CNC machine, laser cutter, lathe and 3D printer. This affects everyone who makes, builds or fixes things. This isn’t a firearms law. It’s a manufacturing law. And they buried it in the budget because they knew exactly what it was.

The mayor is a democrat. The party as a whole is unified against the working class. They all lick the boots of capital. They all in on it. Businesses exist in NYC will go belly up and there designs will be owned and be used to train chatgipity. He is very much aware of this bill and is too much of a coward to say anything. He is only self intersted just like AOC. Just like obamas campain they are good at optics. It will affect his people. Look at trump hes got somthing to say about everything. We in america need real leaders asap.

I’d agree that the Democratic Party is decidedly corporatist, but it seems evident that Mamdani is a socialist, putting him on the extreme left of what is a centre-right party (do you remember how prominent democrats refused to endorse him?). And how do you know he’s aware of this when not only is he responsible for running one of the greatest metropolises in the world, but the wording of this bill is, in your own words, hidden in s budget?

Based, small business owners are enemies because small capitalists are still capitalists that need to be smashed. One less enemy to fight 😈

Would be nice if Mamdani commented on this, but there’s not much he can legally do as the mayor of NYC. (Not a fan of Mamdani btw, just remarking that elected officials have jurisdiction over specific territory.)

I’m not arguing that his hands are tied. I said “there’s not much he can legally do as the mayor of NYC”. Obviously it would be pretty based if he did like a direct action or something outside the law or even illegal…but people like that do not self-select to become elected politicians. I.e., it’s not a personal flaw with Mamdani specifically, it’s that all politicians self-select to be complicit in the bourgeois regime, and that politicians should not be considered vehicles of liberation.

Again, I’m not defending Mamdani. I’m saying that he’s a non-extraordinary example of a politician, who intrinsically, impersonally deserves our scorn 🏴🚩

Right. I can’t do anything legally so I’ll just do nothing. Even though I’m usually some sort of political superhero. But only when it’s legal.

He used to be a NYS assembly member, and jumped ship to be NYC mayor. Source, I work in the NYS assembly.
