The idea behind the SC being lifetime appointments was to insulate it from political pressure, unlike the president and Congress which are suceptible to removal. The SC is (supposed to be) a rather apolitical body that determines if the laws passed are unconstitutional, in order to preserve basic rights.

Right now, it’s rife with partisan hacks, and it need to be removed and rebuilt from the ground up. Absolutely none of the current Republican justices meet the qualifications nor strength of character to be SC jucsticies.

I think we need a law that says any stock trades that an elected member of the government (or their staff) directs or advises on must be publicly annouced 30 days before the trade, and the trade must be completed.

Currently, Trump is openly calling for Republicans lead states to explicitly gerrymander their congressional districts, and it’s being allowed by both Congress and the Supreme Court. At the same time, Virginia had a popularly passed set of congressional district maps struck down by the very same court.

Quite literally, every branch of government is putting their thumb on the scale for trump. Every branch of the government is corrupt beyond repair, and needs to be removed and restructred in such a way that this can never happen again.

Step 1. Pull all the AI bloat out of Windows 11. Make a clean, compatible, and user friendly OS out of the Windows brand.

You can get historic plates for most vehicles in the US if they are over 25 years old. So yes, anything 2000-2001 right now could be considered classic.

Maybe the goal of using E85 was not to make a car get better fuel economy, but instead to reduce dependence on foreign oil, reduce the carbon footprint from cars, and reduce the cost per mile to run the car?

I don’t know if E85 actually does those things in the long run (there is some debate based on studies that don’t take the whole lifecycle of the car and it’s fuel into account) but calling an option stupid based on on a goal it was never intended to meet seems silly.

Also, in E85 cars, the main differences are that the rubber components are made from a different material that the fuel doesn’t corrode, and they have an engine computer that can adjust the engine to run on E85. They work perfectly fine with regular fuel as well.
