    Yes and since they are gutting the unintended consequences rules, they are allowed to redistribute for political reasons. So if they say it’s to eliminate a Democratic district, it’s legal. But if they admit it’s to eliminate a black district it still violates what’s left of the voting rights act Blame John Roberts and Mitch McConnell. This has been their plan for decades.

      It’s actually the opposite. The VRA creating a requirement for a minority district is now unconstitutional, so the LA legislature were “compelled” to eliminate it. And gerrymandering for political reasons is strictly legal, so they can crack the black vote without consequences

        Creating or removing it for race reasons are both illegal.

        Political persuasion isn’t a protected class, even though it is probably fundamental to many people’s identity. For better or worse.
