Dublin wants to follow fellow farming powerhouse New Zealand in changing the way methane pollution from its many cows is factored into climate policy, a move scientists warn could exacerbate global warming.

Climate campaigners and scientists fear that adopting the new methane counting protocols which are also gaining ground in the US and Brazil would favour existing large emitters of the climate super-pollutant – and supercharge global warming.

I remember reading The Farmers Journal just one time over ten years ago. The first thing in it was an opening from the editor denying the fundamental of climate change. Even farmer influencers on Irish TikTok (eg The Kerry Cowboy) deny the climate impact for dairy and his herd. Really disappointing to hear anti-science spread among younger people.

“Yeah, but cows fart up the environments & they turn into burgers when they die!!!”

“…but we need the cars to buy the burgers because our ankles will break under the sheer weight of our mass!”

“Yeah, but without cars how will they get to the foods”?

      Checkmate, libs!

Eating beef is worse than driving a fossil fuel car for two hours. Cattle is a massive pollutant.
