I resent the fact that they referred to that trust fund baby as a technology scion. He’s a technology scion in the same way a 16 year old is a race car driver after his dad bought him a Corvette.

The Stasi would be envious of the modern Chinese states ability to monitor it’s population.
The US is a bit late to the party but they’re working hard to catch up.

Yeah, and the American electorate went " sure, makes sense "

I feel like there are plenty of arthritic people around. It shouldn’t be that hard to test this.

We have some world Cup games in my city. The stadium they are using is definitely walkable but it might take about 45 minutes to walk there. The easiest way to get there is the regional rail connection so hopefully the transit authority runs more trains. You can fit 3 or 4k people in a commuter train at crush load so it shouldn’t be terrible.
Considering that new York city has one of the better transit systems in North America I couldn’t imagine how bad it’s going to be in Dallas.

Nintendo manufacturers way more than valve does. They were producing switch 2s for almost a year or more before releasing so the current product on the shelf was made with cheap RAM or with RAM that was purchased on contract. They might be able to ride their current stock level for some time and walking the price up slowly so it doesn’t look as big when they actually have to pay the price of current memory cost.

I mean it’s not hard to do the math.
Steam has 15 years of good will so they get the benefit of the doubt.
The others have more sordid history so people are less charitable.

I mean it makes total sense the minute you think about it at all.
It’s the same with laws.
It’s very hard to get the electorate united to oppose something but if they manage to unite and oppose a bill the lobbyists are back at work on Monday pushing it by a different name.

People are fickle and difficult to control. If you can extract the knowledge from the meat sack so much the better.

I don’t think we should hang him but I do think we should hang his companies.
It would be more satisfying to me to see him have to start from the bottom.

I mean Plex definitely has a value add. Around here people will scoff but Plex is far easier to work with for non technical users.
If you shared your library externally Plex was definitely easier it’s just that they have started to extract value from that which does suck.
I mean they should probably have to do all the shit the EU makes the other countries do when they want to join.

I’m not saying that at all.

I agree with you. It makes interacting with Linux kernel development tedious and I think they like it that way.
It falls apart pretty quick when they reach a certain size which is what ai posts increase the chance of.
Still it has the advantages of being decentralized which keeps it off things like GitHub issues which is probably for the better.

I generally prefer to work in the office as I like my work space and living space to be separate. I also have a short commute (by design) of less than 10 minutes walking.
I imagine moving an existing team from in office to remote would be best case scenario. You get all the existing social relationships and just move them on line.
I’m would be interested to see how those compare to completely remote teams.

That’s the wealth inequality.

Line go up dog, just give in and roll around in the slop with the rest of us.

I’m sure the people who have them love harvesting data for AI training since that’s what they are clearly for.

This is more or less the reason.
Disney has limited space in the parks. You can only have so many line skipping and spot reserve schemes before people spend the entire day in line for attractions. So they’ve been increasing prices. This combined with the glorious "k shaped’ economy means that childless millenials are one of the largest demographics that have the money and nostalgia to attend them.
So how long before they need to call these people back and ‘unfire’ them
