  • What a typical phone user does on their phone?

    • Overwhelmingly - scroll social media
    • Messaging
    • listen to music
    • watch videos
    • make some pictures and videos
    • scan QR codes
    • maybe - send files
    • maybe - download and print out a PDF
    • maybe - read a book
    • maybe, JUST MAYBE - stock/currency/crypto trading

Influencers may be using their phone more for editing and filming, but that is it.

Nothing I can think of would benefit from AI. Maybe trading, but that AFAIK is a terrible idea.

Edit: Forgot messaging. AI doesn’t help with this one much either.

  • Seems that company is not exactly nice enough. But as an owner of a device myself, I cannot recommend it more.

I got 6490 used because one that comes with ISP is crap, new is 170eur, and I cannot connect anything else but DOCSIS cable to get internet. It is truly a great device. Tons of settings, very versatile, doesn’t need to be restarted (previously owned D-Link and TP-Link had bugs that require me to restart them from time to time).

If I ever get a new network device, it will be FritzBox. Hope they wont entshittify by that time.

  • 1500-2000 PC would be twice as powerful as PS5.

If you pay 1000, you get:

    • 1440p@60 at max settings gaming machine
    • you can play games from all systems (if they are ported to PC)
    • if games are not ported, you got emulation!
    • ginormous backwards compatibility log
    • ability to do whatever you want with it (watch movies, work, browse internet, code, edit photos, whatever you can think of)
    • You also do not have to pay subscription fee to be able to play online
    • Games generally are cheap and can be acquired in bulk
    • 4 times a year Steam sales and free games offered by competitors
    • Can be used with pretty much any gamepad out there + tons of insanely good 3rd party options.
    • If you do not like Windows, Linux can run almost any game.

Btw, 1000 is for a Steam Machine. You can get used parts that are better for even less. And you got a huge bump up if you already have some hardware beforehand.
