Yeah I used Qwant for 2/3 years. It wasn’t really good either. I was constantly calling google through Qwant so it became pointless.
I think Switzerland would probably be a good place to host a search engine.

It really sucks that to escape Google, the second in line that is “more private” is DDG and based in the US. So that means they have to abide to the american privacy invading “patriot” laws etc.
I wish we had a good European alternative that doesn’t have to comply to the NSA when they want direct access to logs while giving you a gag order…
And I know searx-ng but last time I tried it wasn’t good enough imo.

Malus was probably born out of satire but is very real with completely real paying customers.
You can choose to believe it’s “too evil to be true” but it is.

Look at malus.sh they even market an AI to steal open source projects…

I’m cynical… I lost access to Battlefield 6 when I moved to linux.
And on BF6 they purposefully block linux pretexting it makes cheating too easy.
Arc Raiders, or Rocket League let me play without issue. So despite the growth of linux gaming there is still businesses that will fully block that avenue…

Because it was announced right in the middle of an e-sport event for Rocket League.
So the reporting is accurate here. Epic just decided Rocket League would be the technology preview for their new engine.
Supposedly, Rocket League had around 6 to 8 millions daily players in mid 2025.
So a lot of people care about RL and also UE6 too obviously.

Interesting, I must be misinformed, someone told me it only worked on heroic with the anticheat etc. And that the linux build is “preventing” to get the modern windows build on linux.
I will try again on steam. Also I noticed my controller driver is loaded by steam… So it works only if I have steam up and running anyway.
There is a “steam-devices” linux package I need to look into…
Anyway, thanks for the feedback !

Supposedly UE6 will kind of be UE5 but with better optimization for multi threading.
And to my great concern it should be much more connected to UEFN and all the fortnite universe…

Yeah the “authentication” can be super long. Sometimes you are connected to the server and get to see your future team getting wrecked 2v3 while you are authenticating.
Not a big deal since it’s mostly an issue in casual but annoying nonetheless.
I’ll be honest I expected them to fully block linux via the EasyAnticheat but they didn’t. So for now it remains functional but on UE6 and new code they might try to dump the linux support.

Yes. The steam linux build is dated many years ago.
You need heroic launcher to properly play RL on linux.
You can setup a steam shortcut starting it in heroic though.

Or an open source hardware device that changes your “wifi signature” randomly.

Exactly, the fact this dude at Krafton can sign 250 million dollars deals but is also dumb enough to think a ChatGPT lawyer knows better than his own lawyers… It goes to show that many powerful people were just lucky or inherited their wealth but are definitely not successful because they are smart.
If I recall correctly they have strong privacy laws and the fact that they are not part of the EU can also help with some extra sovereignty I guess.
It’s also where protonmail is hosted.
