When I think about what got worse about the internet, it’s mostly the life stories before recipes, the novel length pages to maybe answer a simple question, and pretty much anything else related to SEO.

An example of number 4, there’s a poster I’ve seen on reddit that’s posting very relevant content, but then every post ends with “@xxxxxxxx on all socials”. It just takes the whole thing from content I might want to engage with to the exact opposite.

Search used to be so good. I had an old Honda civic that suddenly wouldn’t start. It wasn’t the starter, alternator, or battery. I managed to find a forum post with my exact issue, which was that a small rubber piece on the clutch pressed a button to “tell” the starter it was okay to start. Twenty minutes later I had zip tied a piece of plastic into place and had a working car again.

If I tried to diagnose that same issue today, it’d be dozens of SEO garbage slop sites without any actual useful information.

I tried it once at the start of covid. My food finally got to me lukewarm ninety minutes after I ordered it. I’m sure the restaurants and drivers have improved since then, but I just can’t justify paying almost double for my food.

Seems like the software could have been updated to batch orders similar to how the drivers were.

I don’t know about tesla motors, but my car hasn’t had any issues and it’s a 2017. I also haven’t heard of “solenoids and computers” that fail at a very high rate. My experience has been that it’s the most reliable car I’ve owned. The lack of routine maintenance also lets you buy a used car without having to trust that the previous owner took good care of it.

Absolutely. I didn’t even consider this when I bought my EV. After about six months I had to look up the suggested service schedule to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

Cost savings just when looking at fuel costs, but if you add in the lack of routine maintenance and moving parts that can wear out, the cost savings multiply. There’s the big ticket high voltage battery, but typically that’s a matter of reduced capacity rather than a complete failure.

AI is incredible if you ask it about stuff you’re not an expert on. Once you ask it those things you already have expert level knowledge on, especially nuanced questions, you’ll start to see the issues. It won’t be every question it gets wrong, but it’s often enough to be an issue.

Just to clarify, the three numbers at the pump (87, 91, 93 I think?) are the octane rating which the other comments explained. The ethanol content is the sticker that says “may contain up to 10% ethanol”. This post is about increasing that percentage of ethanol in regular gas, which as other comments explained mostly just makes the gas less efficient.

E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gas, basically the reverse of regular gas.

My hope is that it will always be a little too disjointed to hold that kind of attention for long.
