Aah. I missed this part on my first reading…
Once a judge approves surveillance, police have carte blanche on methods.
This would be used on suspects that they have a warrant to investigate.

That type of investigation would still require a warrant or exigent circumstances at the minimum. Otherwise it’s just fishing…which is a violation of Canada’s privacy laws. They can’t just go rooting through someone’s phone looking for a reason to pursue further investigation.

Good luck making that stand up in court. They may as well be handing out “get-out-of-jail-free” cards.

Don’t worry, folks…AIPAC had a chance to go through the data first, and they found nothing wrong with the conclusions made in this report.
10/10 AIPAC approved.

I mean, this case could be used to set the precedent that killing foreign civilians without due process should land the entire chain of command in prison for murder. Right?
I mean, if that’s the outcome they’re really trying to achieve in court, then maybe that also applies to Trump and Hegseth and half a dozen other US officials responsible for the recent boat strikes in the Caribbean? Right?
I mean, Castro might be guilty of four(?) counts? But, Trump and his administration would be guilty of hundreds. Right?

Yeah. If I had one of those ugly pieces of crap, I’d drive it into a lake too.

They’re just butt-hurt that Canada isn’t spending the extra money on US weapons. This whole “military spending” thing is nothing but a shakedown to get allies to increase weapons purchases from US manufacturers.

As for his political affiliation, Pratt has previously said, “I represent all of Los Angeles. I do not represent a party. I don’t have a campaign manager. I don’t have campaign consultants. There’s no political party backing me.”
Well…there’s no political party backing him. Just Trump.

…proving that deficit hawks and foreign policy doves aren’t welcome in Trump’s GOP.
Lol! It had literally nothing to do with being a “deficit hawk” or a “foreign policy dove”.
It was the Epstein files.
They would have let him say or do anything he wanted, if he’d just shut the fuck up about the Epstein files. But, he helped spearhead the release of those files…so Trump got rid of him with the help of AIPAC.

You say “people change”. But, they don’t. Not really anyway.
This is exactly why history will always end up repeating itself. Because people never fucking learn. We’re literally running through the same cycle, over and over again, just with slight variations on the same theme…and folks like yourself will always convince yourself that the best thing to do is exactly the same thing we did the last time, hoping for different results.
It’s the definition of insanity.

My point is, they won’t regret anything. A few might…for a minute. And then they’ll go right back to voting whichever way Fox News and Steve Bannon tell them to. All the same people who are currently pulling their strings right now, will just wait a little while and then start doing it all over again, once the heat is off.
Which makes it exactly the same as what happened after the last civil war…which you described quite well. Trust me…that’s exactly how it will play out again, unless some serious changes are made to US society.

It goes without saying that if either Obama or Biden had even suggested such a thing, Republicans would have collectively lost their entire shit over it. They would have been calling for a civil war.

That’s only because the civil war hasn’t started yet.

The fact that Trump can simply veto any law that limits his ability to wreak havoc on the world, means that anything less than impeachment and removal from office, is utterly pointless.

How’d that work out with the Confederacy? Did turning the other cheek teach them the error of their ways? Or did it just create a society that makes excuses to justify its racist “heritage”?

Before I read the article, I would suspect it’s because if they had the chance, they would fire him.

I believe David Icke predicted this way back in the late 80’s, early 90’s. Who would have thought that fruitcake would be right about something?

This is why I prefer the open seas. Arrr, me matey! A pirate’s life for me!

What is wrong with Americans? Why do they tolerate this?
One is just as a decoy.
