Not often I post the EEN as their site is awful. But my adblocker has done a decent job, and it is worth a quick read. Notice how Andy Burnham isn’t getting asked about all the uppity regions also

    Legally only Westminster (UK parliament) can allow a referendum. Usually, when we ask for one, they (UK gov) just say “no” and refuse to discuss it further.

    Trouble is thats not very democratic if the union is voluntary and there is a will for a referendum at Holyrood (Scottish parl.).

    So likely outcome is UK gov will say “no, go away, stop bothering us about it”. They can’t keep doing that forever though.
