The funny thing is that, if left to themselves, the EU would have watered down that legislation to the point of irrelevancy.

So does Steve Bannon. Cambridge Analytica had a big role in Brexit winning, and Bannon launched it (with money from the US fascist oligarchs, the Mercer family). Brexit was a beta test for MAGA.
